First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Yard Operative on behalf of one of our clients.
To assist in managing the day-to-day running of the yard This is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to work towards the company’s aim of improving and developing effective and efficient procedures regarding yard operations.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Hours will vary between 32 – 48 hours per week as needed. Standard hours of work will be Monday – Friday 0800 to 1700 however flexibility to work overtime and/or Saturdays if necessary is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities for the Yard Operative:
1. Operate within the company’s precast yard,
2. Operating a forklift
3. Remove the finished products from factories,
4. Stacking products neatly in the yard areas as per the planned layout,
5. Providing customer service to customers and loading their vehicle/trailer with purchased products,
6. Loading lorries with products for larger orders
7. General housekeeping duties.
Skills and Qualifications for the Yard Operative:
Essential Criteria:
8. Valid Counterbalance forklift licence.
9. Previous experience within a manufacturing, construction, or agricultural industry or experience within a relevant role to the position.
10. Understanding of Health & Safety at work.
11. Flexibility in working hours and strong adaptability skills.
12. Good communication and teamwork experience.
13. Good customer service skills.
14. Willing to clean and maintain work area.
15. An understanding of both written and spoken English.
Desirable Criteria:
16. Previous work experience in related projects
17. CSR / First Aid / Fire Warden Training
