Overview
Band 6 mental health practitioner to be part of Bedfordshire Mental Health Crisis Line 111 option 2, covering Bedfordshire and Luton. East London Foundation NHS Trust working in partnership with Herts Urgent Care (HUC) NHS 111 to provide a Mental Health Crisis line for Bedfordshire and Luton 111 option 2 and to provide cross cover for the Bedford Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team.
Responsibilities
* To support the delivery of a clinically effective service by the provision of clinical expertise in the operation of the NHS 111 Pathways content for patients with mental health needs. Minimize the necessity to attend the emergency services (Police, ambulance and Accident and Emergency).
* To undertake telephone triage assessments of mental health and social care needs and to be compassionate and empathetic in meeting the needs of those people, and their carers who contacts the service.
* To work within a multidisciplinary mental health assessment service, assessing referrals from various sources including GPs, CRHTT and the acute admission wards and providing home treatment for patients accepted on to our caseload.
* To be a part of the assessment or the home treatment team within the Crisis Team.
