Overview
Area Engineering Manager role within Amentum on the Sellafield PPP projects, delivering major regulated engineering work in a highly complex environment. The project focuses on the Sellafield Product & Residue Store (SPRS) Retreatment Plant to receive and process Special Nuclear Material for safe and secure storage until 2120.
About The Opportunity
Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the Programme and Project Partners (PPP). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are recruiting high-value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP delivers major projects, site-wide improvements, and supporting services.
The Project
The SPRS Retreatment Plant will receive SNM from existing stores across the Sellafield site and process it into a form suitable for safe and secure storage until 2120.
The Role
We are looking to recruit an Area Engineering Manager who will manage a team of senior and principal engineers in the delivery of a highly complex nuclear project. As an Area Engineering Manager, your responsibilities could include:
* Solution development and delivery (via design team) of engineering design scope for manufacture and construction.
* Managing configuration baselines and design intent.
* Ensuring safe and legal designs (via design responsible engineers) and CDM responsibilities.
* Requirements management (verification and validation management).
* Cost/schedule and change management of engineering scope (supporting the Project Manager).
* Quality management with the Quality Leads.
* People management of the design team.
* Supporting the wider project in areas such as delivery of overall safety case aspects (Design Justification Report delivery in particular).
As an Area Engineering Manager, you will already have:
* Experience delivering mechanical and electrical scope on large-scale engineering design projects and managing engineering design teams.
* Chartered or Incorporated engineering status with a recognised professional body.
* Engineering Management and/or systems engineering experience; INCOSE qualification such as ASEP is advantageous.
* Experience in nuclear project delivery and highly regulated environments.
