Purpose of Role
To be a key collaborator within Teckentrup and ABC Doors' Estimating Team with the purpose of nurturing new and existing client relationships to secure a wide-ranging scope of contracts, from small works through to large scale construction and infrastructure projects. To facilitate, with a solution-led mindset, the generation and management of estimates required for sales and bidding efforts. To pursue profitable project awards of door solutions into the construction and refurbishment sectors. To analyse and fulfil proposals, tender packages and client requirements, whilst ensuring Teckentrup and ABC Doors offering is also compliant with regulatory and certification obligations.

Dimensions of Role
* Clarifying the client's needs and expectations, responding to client's requests for information (RFI) and enacting RFI to clients for clarifications.
* Researching, sourcing, negotiating, and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors where applicable.
* Assessing and adhering to all risk assessments and health and safety requirements.
* Identify opportunity and risk during tender process.
* Contribute to the improvement of Teckentrup and ABC Doors' costing processes to further standardise.
* Work closely with key members of the project team (project managers, commercial manager) and liaising with clients and suppliers.
* Be aware of any contractual implications when submitting cost estimates, seeking guidance where necessary before submitting to clients.
* Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
* Identify labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents. Analysing plans, bills of quantities and other project documentation to estimate costs.
* Collaborate with project managers to develop and maintain pre and post contract estimates.
* Maintain cost database by entering and backing up data.
* Visiting project sites and clients as and when necessary to gather information and foster stronger relationships.
* You will be expected to carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with your main duties.
Desirable Qualifications & skills
* Full Driver's Licence
* BTEC HNC / Degree in structural, civil or construction engineering ideal, or time served apprenticeship in similar industry sectors.
* NVQ in Construction Contracting Operations Levels 3 and 4
* Basic understanding of CAD, ability to read and interpret drawings.
Experience Necessary
General understanding of industrial and commercial doors, steel doorsets and the applicable regulations for fire, security and other characteristics for the built environment would be advantageous.
