Overview

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? We’re looking for a dynamic and proactive Recruitment Advisor to join our team, specialising in the recruitment of On Call Firefighters. This is a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key role in attracting and supporting new recruits, while also helping to shape and improve our recruitment processes with fresh ideas and innovative thinking. This is a maternity cover role (temporary 1 year fixed term or until return of substantive postholder).


Responsibilities

* advise on, oversee and have responsibility for the progression of job vacancies, including advertising options and pre-employment checks, external and internal. This includes procedures, processes, guidance (manuals) and delivering training. Liaise with other stakeholders to ensure recruitment timelines are met e.g. Occupational Health and respective training centres
* provide HR workforce planning and recruitment and selection advice and support to Line Managers, Business Partners and all employees. Investigate and resolve a wide range of HR workforce planning, recruitment and induction related issues in a fair and consistent manner, for example ensuring that staff postings/transfers and job vacancy information is accurate and up to date, and reviewing and responding to customer feedback
* review, draft and produce all HR recruitment and selection related documents e.g. associated policies, templates, MS forms, organisation structure charts, and recruitment guidance, to ensure they are fit for purpose on a regular basis. Assist in the development of policies and procedures in reaction to legislative changes


What makes you our ideal Recruitment Advisor?

* 4 GCSE passes, Grade A* to C / 9 to 4, including English and Mathematics or equivalent Level 2 qualification, including L2 functional skills, or higher level relevant qualification
* post specific qualification at Level 3 or above, or relevant experience of working in the HR environment at that level
* broad knowledge of working in an HR environment with experience of providing advice and guidance in an HR setting


Details

* Job title: Recruitment Advisor, Maternity Cover
* Grade: D
* Salary: £31,537 to £33,143 per annum, rising by annual increments to £33,143
* Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week
* Location: Flexible working; base location at Service Headquarters, Salisbury or Dorchester Support Offices, Poundbury with the flexibility to work from home or DWFRS stations and support offices. Would welcome a conversation about what flexible working arrangement will work best. Attending base location approximately 2 days a week for key activities and meetings.
* Appointment type: Temporary 1 year fixed term contract or until return of substantive postholder
