Young person and family outreach worker

Bournemouth
Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust
Outreach worker
Posted: 23 June
Offer description

As part of our ongoing commitment to staff development and career progression within CAMHS, we are inviting applications for roles within the new CAMHS Enhanced Support and Liaison Team. This is an excellent opportunity for passionate, flexible, and enthusiastic individuals with the appropriate skills to join a new service.

Position: Young Person and Family Outreach Worker

The CAMHS Enhanced Support and Liaison Service seeks to recruit a Young Person and Family Outreach Worker to collaborate with Practitioners in supporting young people in crisis within their homes and acute hospital sites. This is a PAN Dorset post. The role is both demanding and rewarding; a flexible, hardworking approach is essential to manage the demands of working within an Enhanced Support Service.

This is a full-time position with flexible working arrangements considered. Some weekend and late/early shifts are required and will be scheduled through a rota. Candidates must have experience working therapeutically with children and young people with mental health presentations and their families. Significant clinical mental health experience is essential.

Employment requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will fund. Applicants subscribed to the DBS update service can present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work with children and young people on the CAMHS caseload requiring intensive, time-limited interventions to reduce mental health risks and distress, potentially preventing inpatient admissions.
2. Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver therapeutic interventions to children and young people with high-risk and complex presentations.
3. Ensure high standards of service delivery in accordance with Trust, Social, and Healthcare policies.

Requirements:

* Must hold a full UK Driving Licence.

We are proud of our achievements, including a 'Good' rating for community services and an 'Outstanding' rating for our inpatient unit. We are involved in innovative projects like the New Care Models, Mental Health Support Teams in schools, and the development of a new PICU.

This is a fixed-term role. For NHS employees, the position is on secondment basis; applicants must seek permission before applying.

Dorset HealthCare is committed to empowering individuals through outstanding healthcare services. We operate 12 community hospitals, specialist inpatient facilities, and a wide range of community and mental health services for nearly 800,000 residents. Our organization is rated 'outstanding' by the CQC, and we are dedicated to diversity, inclusion, and building a supportive workplace.
