We are seeking an experienced and motivated Plumbing Lecturer to join our Construction team, delivering high-quality teaching across Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 provision. This is an excellent opportunity for both qualified teachers and industry professionals looking to transition into education. You will support learners to develop the practical skills, knowledge and professional behaviours required by the plumbing industry. As part of a collaborative curriculum team, you will deliver an inclusive, industry-relevant curriculum that supports learner achievement and progression. The role also involves contributing to continuous improvement, ensuring teaching reflects current industry standards and employer expectations.
This opportunity is based at our Openshaw Campus to join the Automotive, Construction, Engineering and Logistics Department as a Plumbing Teacher on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) basis.

Role Responsibilities
15. Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment across programmes, using well‑planned lessons, resources, and technology to support learner progress.
16. Plan, assess and provide meaningful feedback, ensuring learning outcomes are met and students know how to develop further.
17. Support learners’ progress and wellbeing by working collaboratively with tutors and support staff to meet diverse learner needs.
18. Maintain accurate records and meet quality standards, including registers, assessment records, quality assurance processes, and compliance with college policies.
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience
19. Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment in Plumbing across Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 programmes.
20. Plan and deliver engaging lessons in both workshop and classroom settings that meet diverse learner needs.
21. Track, assess and monitor learner progress, providing timely feedback to support achievement.
22. Embed employability, personal development, and health and safety within your teaching.
23. Act as a Personal Tutor, supporting learners’ attendance, wellbeing, and progression.
24. Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
25. Engage with employers, schools, and internal teams to support recruitment, engagement, and progression opportunities.
26. Participate in open events, enrolment, and promotional activities.
27. Level 3 plumbing skills or equivalent industry experience.
28. Flexibility to work across college sites and support occasional evening activities.
