We are looking for an enthusiastic Band nurse to join our nurse-led unit at the Stoke Mandeville Renal Unit. Our unit provides haemodialysis treatment for end stage renal failure patients. We are a satellite unit of the Oxford Kidney Unit.
Our Unit is closed on Sundays, Christmas & New Year's Day. The unit is open Monday to Saturday with no night shifts. Twilight shifts up to midnight on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Main duties of the job
O
1. To provide and maintain a high standard of care based upon and reflecting the beliefs of nursing practice outlined in the unit philosophy for patients receiving renal replacement therapy and patients attending outpatient clinics or the unit for other treatments related to their renal failure.
2. To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for a named group of patients who are receiving maintenance haemodialysis.
3. To act as co-ordinator of the clinical area on a daily basis, sometimes in the absence of a more senior member of staff on site.
4. To supervise and teach new staff, renal course students, renal care assistants and pre-registration students and to assist in the development of junior staff.
