Overview

Suffolk County Council is seeking Adult Social Workers and Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW) across Suffolk. We offer flexible full or part-time hours, permanent and temporary contracts, and a comprehensive training programme including ASYE if required to support your first year in practice. What we offer

* Salary: £37,280 per annum (pro rata for part-time hours) rising to £38,220 - £40,777 per annum after successful completion of ASYE; plus a £500 additional payment and retention payments
* Hours: Full or part time hours available
* Contract: Permanent and temporary contracts available

* Retention payments for 2, 3 and 5 years (£1,000, £1,500 and £2,000)

Your role and progression

You will have the ability and experience to undertake innovative strengths-based assessments and care planning with individuals, carers, and their personal support networks. You will be open to change, innovative and confident with a focus on strengthening social work and ambitious about what people can achieve. There are opportunities in integrated neighbourhood teams, mental health teams, and learning disabilities and autism teams across the county. Please state your preference in your application.

* Join a cohort of NQSWs who are completing ASYE training for mutual support


Career development

Following successful completion of your ASYE you could progress to roles such as:

* Approved Mental Health Practitioner
* Practice Educator


Teams and services

Integrated Neighbourhood and Area Locality: Supports adults 18+ with physical health conditions, mental health challenges, age-related needs, substance misuse, or caring responsibilities. We uphold the Care Act 2014 and work with health professionals to help people live independently and stay safe at home.

Mental Health: County-wide service with bases across Suffolk; supports functional mental health conditions and works with NHS Mental Health Services, carrying out statutory duties under the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Health Act 1983/2007.

Learning Disabilities and Autism: Works with individuals with learning disabilities and autism to enable them to thrive in their communities.

Signs of Safety: Our model uses safety, solution-building and trauma-responsive approaches. We offer training to become a Signs of Safety practitioner.
