Overview
Chedington is Hobbs' new state-of-the-art site which is growing rapidly. We are expanding our multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional rehabilitation to more clients. The site features neurotechnology including the only UK Lokomat able to treat both paediatrics and adults. We offer imaginative therapy through activities such as paddleboarding, rock climbing, and adaptive cycling with a strong focus on excellence in therapy.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic experienced neurophysiotherapist to join our existing MDT at this world-class facility, providing intensive rehabilitation for adults and children with neurological conditions including stroke, TBI, SCI, polytrauma and amputation. We pursue the latest advances in research and technology to support clients and staff, involving research projects, development of services using advanced technology, and CPD/training support.
Role summary
The Senior Neurological Physiotherapist will be based at Chedington as part of an experienced multidisciplinary team, working with residential and outpatient clients with complex neurological conditions including stroke, traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, polytrauma and amputees. The post-holder will have excellent clinical skills and experience in neurological rehabilitation across the pathway, including assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning. This role suits someone seeking to develop skills in adult neurology, spinal cord injury and amputee rehab. Supervision and specialist training, CPD opportunities, and involvement in national/global research projects are provided.
Responsibilities
Communication
* Communicate in a manner that positively represents Hobbs Rehabilitation at all times.
* Communicate professionally with team members, external stakeholders, patients and carers (in person, by telephone, and in writing).
* Maintain client confidentiality in line with Hobbs policies.
* Use advanced communication to deliver clinical advice and treatment sensitively; accommodate alternative communication methods as needed; respect cultural and religious needs.
* Gain consent for treatment and information sharing, considering barriers such as dementia and cognitive impairments (Mental Capacity Act).
* Support communication for clients with impairments to communicate effectively; relay information from Hobbs management to wider teams.
Clinical
* Practice safely within legal/ethical boundaries; assess and manage patients with acquired impairments using formal and informal tools.
* Formulate patient-centred goals with the MDT; provide high-quality one-to-one and group interventions across inpatient/outpatient settings.
* Evaluate progress using outcome measures; adjust goals/treatment plans accordingly; liaise with MDT for safety and effectiveness.
* Plan and manage caseload with service leads; maintain accurate notes using site software; write high-quality patient reports and MDT discharge reports.
* Attend and contribute to patient/family meetings (in person or via video); supervise equipment use as appropriate.
Administrative
* Maintain up-to-date clinical records and a work diary using Hobbs procedures and software.
* Respond to communications in a timely manner; ensure confidentiality at all times.
Professional conduct
* Maintain HCPC standards and professional guidelines; comply with Hobbs policies; promote safety and well-being.
* Attend work punctually and professionally; inform Line Manager promptly if unable to attend.
* Represent Hobbs positively and professionally; interact professionally with colleagues and clients.
Leadership / Management / Supervision
* Manage a specialist neurological caseload with appropriate prioritisation; support day-to-day coordination of therapy services.
* Provide line management and/or clinical supervision to junior staff and therapy assistants with support from senior management.
* Participate in recruitment/induction; lead service improvement initiatives and projects; represent the department in working groups and meetings.
Education / Training / CPD
* Engage in CPD, supervision and Hobbs appraisal; seek appropriate support to enhance practice; ensure mandatory training compliance.
* Contribute to training of healthcare professionals, patients and carers; supervise junior staff and students; support induction/competency training.
* Apply CPD findings to practice; identify areas for clinical/quality improvement and work with management to implement training plans; support internal/external training programmes.
Health & Safety / Data Security
* Maintain health, safety and security in line with Hobbs policies; this includes fire safety, infection control, moving and handling, first aid, risk assessment.
* Report incidents; maintain knowledge of health and safety and infection control guidelines; ensure GDPR compliance and data protection; maintain confidentiality of clinical information.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* UK recognised degree in Physiotherapy; HCPC registration; Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.
* Full clean driving licence and ability to travel to other Hobbs locations.
* Experience in UK healthcare (NHS or private) with neurological rehabilitation across the clinical pathway; integrated MDT experience.
Desirable
* Post-graduate training in neurological rehabilitation; experience with treatment adjuncts (splinting, FES, posture management); experience in paediatrics, spinal cord injury, amputee rehab; interest in neurotechnology.
* IT skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Google Drive).
