Senior Residential Support Worker | West Midlands/East Midlands/ Multi-location within these areas | Full Time | £26,000 - £28,000 dependent on experience plus bonuses and sleep in pay. OTE up to £32,000+

Are you the right person for the job?
* Experience as an acting Home Manager or Deputy Manager in a children’s home
* Two years' recent experience in children’s/young people’s residential care
* Proficiency in working with young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and a strong grasp of therapeutic strategies
* Sound knowledge of relevant Looked After Children (LAC) procedures
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent, or actively pursuing this qualification
* Full manual driver’s licence
What will your role look like?
* Provide guidance and support to the care team, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and act as a point of contact for external agencies and stakeholders
* Play a vital role in the day-to-day care and support of children and young people, fostering a nurturing and stable environment for their safety and well-being
* Complete tasks and activities effectively, including shift health and safety checks/audits, and address any issues on shift
* Shadow the Deputy/Registered Manager to develop leadership skills through tasks such as supervisions, appraisals, recruitment, and rota planning
* Attend to daily routines such as ensuring timely wake-ups for school, preparing meals, assisting with homework, and organising leisure activities
* Build positive relationships with children, meeting their needs and always safeguarding them
* Administer medical care as required by policies and procedures
* Create timetables, set boundaries, and expectations for young people, emphasizing consistency and organisation
* Provide support and supervision to children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support
