Lowry Academy
Teacher
Posted: 9 October
Offer description

The Lowry Academy ensures that every student is well educated, has the opportunity to reach their potential and is able to lead a happy and fulfilled life. Alongside a rigorous academic education, we prioritise students’ personal and social development so that they have the skills and attributes they need to open doors to the best universities, training opportunities and career pathways. We already have a cadre of committed, loyal and hard-working staff, but we have opportunities for more to join us. So, if you are ambitious for the children, you teach and want to work in an Academy where what you think and do matters and is appreciated, please get in touch.

The Lowry Academy is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life-changing education to children and young people across England. United Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online check.

We always appoint on merit, and we are open to discussing flexible working options.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Teacher of Food Technology to join our Design Technology faculty and inspire the next generation of chefs, food technologists, and hospitality professionals. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering creativity, practical skills, and a deep understanding of food preparation, nutrition, and the catering industry.

You will play a key role in developing engaging schemes of work, promoting high standards of achievement, and creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. As part of a dynamic team, you will contribute to the wider life of the school, support cross-curricular initiatives, and help students develop essential life skills through hands-on learning and enrichment opportunities.
