Overview
Environmental Compliance Technical Manager role based in the Wolverhampton area, with hybrid working and regular visits to client sites and the office. Salary £45k - £55k plus benefits. The role requires robust technical knowledge across Legionella, Fire, Health and Safety and Occupational Hygiene sectors and the ability to lead and manage multiple teams within a busy environmental consultancy environment.
Responsibilities
* Manage several Environmental Compliance departments within a busy consultancy, including Legionella, Occupational Hygiene, Health and Safety and Fire.
* Oversee general project delivery, ensuring works adhere to agreed scopes and deadlines.
* Monitor safety and industry compliance across all departments, ensuring the company remains within stated regulations.
* Maintain regular contact with clients to provide ongoing support and technical advice.
* Identify gaps within the business and devise plans to grow company revenues and client base.
* Work closely with managers and directors to monitor performance.
* Implement structural and operational changes within the business.
* Evaluate the general function of the business and make recommendations for process improvement and new measures.
* Ensure teams work to agreed targets and deadlines.
* Monitor and encourage high levels of customer service; perform auditing and quality checks on completed works.
* Maintain and build strong working relationships with clients.
* Travel to client sites to scope projects and conduct initial inspections.
Experience / Qualifications
* Successful track record as an Environmental Compliance Technical Manager.
* Working knowledge of technical guidelines, including ACOP L8, HSG 274, COSHH, and HSE.
* Industry-relevant qualifications such as BOHS P Certificates, NEBOSH, CCP, CoCA and/or City & Guilds in Legionella Risk Assessing.
* Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
* Degree relating to Sciences, Engineering, Health and Safety and/or Environmental sectors (preferred).
* Ability to articulate technical matters directly to clients.
* Strong literacy and numeracy skills; proficient in using IT software.
* Ability to prioritise workloads and manage a portfolio of projects simultaneously.
