The Legal Cashier duties involve: -
* Daily bank reconciliations and month end.
* Posting transactions, journal transfers and credits.
* Post and set up completions.
* Petty Cash duties.
* Bank account verification checks.
* Checking completion statements and invoices.
* Logging SDLT payments within set time frame.
* Credit control by letter, email and telephone.
* Investigating and reporting on dormant balances.
* Dealing with telephone queries from colleagues and clients.
* Ensuring land registry is posted and checked daily.
* Ensuring compliance fees are posted, checked and transferred.
* Running reports within LEAP.
* Setting up payments, monitoring daily credits and debits, allocating to correct ledgers.
* Dealing with cheques or cash received and banking.
What you will need for the Legal Cashier role: -
* Previous experience in a similar Legal Cashier Accounting role
* Knowledge of the conveyancing process, sales/purchases, re-mortgages and probate accounts
* Knowledge and understanding of the CLC and SRA Accounts code/rules
* Confidentiality and professional communication skills
* Strong eye for detail and accuracy
