Overview
The Environment Agency is looking for an experienced investigator to join our National Investigations Team as a Senior Environmental Crime Officer. You will work with Senior Investigation Managers and our Major Incident Room to lead investigations into the most serious and complex environmental crimes, coordinating all aspects from lines of enquiry to casefile preparation and prosecution.

Responsibilities
* Lead and drive major investigations into serious environmental offences, including coordinating lines of enquiry, reviewing intelligence, and allocating actions.
* Coordinate evidence gathering, interviews, and casefile preparation to support prosecution.
* Work with Partnership Organisations and develop investigative teams and complex investigations.
* Attend and support incidents as part of the incident role and provide business continuity during incidents; may attract additional payment and training.
* Contribute to team development and maintain high professional standards in line with environmental crime investigations.
Experience/Skills Required
* High attention to detail, hard-working and self-motivated with a strong investigative background.
* In-depth knowledge of investigative legislation such as PACE and CPIA; excellent verbal and written communication; basic IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams).
* Knowledge of environmental crime, leading serious criminal investigations, and workings of a Major Incident Room is desirable.
* Experience in leading and developing investigation teams; ability to drive complex investigations.
* Successful completion of SC and NPPV2 Vetting within a 6-month probationary period.
* Full driving licence is required.
