Your impact
Do you want to work in the world of advanced electronics on products that detect/eliminate threats or provide surveillance using innovative technology?
Within Operations, we turn innovative engineering designs into real solutions to meet our customers' needs. Leonardo offers an opportunity for experienced Manufacturing Technicians to join our team.
The Radar and Advanced Targeting business, based in Edinburgh, is a leading manufacturer of radars, lasers, and infrared countermeasure systems.
As a Manufacturing Technician, you will join our Operations team, working on systems like radar for fighter jets, coast guard surveillance systems, and avionic systems for military aircraft.
If you thrive on meeting business and customer goals, this could be the right role for you.
Initially, the position is dayshift Monday–Friday, with potential for shift work after training.
Your responsibilities include inspecting substrates and microwave modules using industry-leading standards, managing inspection activities, providing feedback, and ensuring health and safety protocols are followed.
What you’ll bring
* Experience as an electronics/electromechanical inspector, familiar with IPC-610 standards and certifications.
* Experience with Microwave Circuitry and defect recognition on PCBs and mechanical assemblies.
* Understanding of soldering to IPC standards, working in cleanroom environments, and high power microscopes.
* Knowledge of FOD/ESD/cleanroom procedures, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions and drawings.
* Experience with substrate attach, MMICs, ICs, and soldering skills.
* Previous experience with military and aerospace products and hybrid microelectronic assembly techniques.
* Ability to interpret manufacturing plans and maintain 5S standards.
This list is not exhaustive; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are most important.
