Baltic Recruitment is currently recruiting for a permanent Machinist for a client located in Kirbymoorside. The role involves working as part of a design and manufacturing team at the facility in Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire, which is part of a worldwide company headquartered in Houston, USA. Their products are renowned for quality and technical excellence, delivering reliable performance in harsh environments.
Purpose
Manufacture components according to drawings, technical specifications, and quality requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Set up, program, and operate CNC Mazak machining centers, proficient in MAZATROL.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
* Manufacture components using manual milling machines and lathes to required standards.
* Use precision measuring devices competently.
* Complete quality documentation such as NCRs and ECNs.
* Carry out standard machine maintenance.
* Work with limited supervision.
* Willingness to undertake flexible working hours, including overtime and shift work.
* Complete administrative documentation like timesheets and holiday records.
* Follow safe working practices and maintain good housekeeping.
* Perform other duties as required to support business operations.
Accountabilities (Deliverables)
* Manufacture components from materials like aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics in accordance with specifications.
* Set up and operate manual and CNC machines efficiently.
* Support LEAN initiatives to maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
* Provide feedback for design and process improvements.
Qualifications
* Apprentice trained in machine tools (desirable).
Technical Skills (Essential)
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Operate manual milling machines and lathes.
* Program and operate Mazak CNC milling machines.
* Use precision measuring equipment.
Technical Skills (Desirable)
* Program and operate Mazak CNC lathes.
Key Skills (Essential)
* Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.
* Hardworking and able to work under pressure.
Experience (Essential)
* Minimum of 3 years in a machine shop environment.
* Knowledge of standard measurements and material properties.
