Job Introduction

As a Switchboard Operative at Sodexo, based in Hereford County Hospital, you will be reporting to the Switchboard Supervisors and will be working as part of the Switchboard team on our Hereford Contract. In this role you will act as the first point of contact providing a telephony service for our internal and external Clients and customers. You’ll be highly organised, an excellent communicator, and thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment. What you’ll do:
• You will provide a complete telephony service as well as e ffective operation of the Switchboard and its associated systems.
• Comply with operational policies and procedures.
• Support other Sodexo staff in their duties.
• Provide operational cover for other clerical staff.
• Telephone and face to face liaison with internal staff and contractors
• Operate and update the paging and bleep systems
• Initiate internal procedures on activation of emergency call or alarm.
What you bring:
* Confidence using Microsoft Office and other basic IT systems
* A strong team spirit and excellent communication skills
* The ability to stay calm, focused, and organised under pressure
* Previous admin and Telephony experience is a plus — but a positive attitude and dedication to service are what really count
