Delighted to be partnering with a fast paced growing organisation on their search for a Group Finance Manager!
My client are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technical Accounting Specialist to join their Group Finance team based in Leeds. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting global financial operations, providing expert guidance on technical accounting matters, and ensuring compliance with evolving financial reporting standards. The position is primarily project-based and offers the opportunity to influence financial practices across a diverse international footprint.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Accounting & Standards
* Monitor and interpret new and emerging accounting standards and assess their impact on the organization.
* Analyse current accounting practices and identify areas for improvement or alignment with best practices.
* Develop and communicate clear, practical guidance on technical accounting issues, considering materiality and regional variations.
Process & Control Improvement
* Lead the development and implementation of updated processes and procedures to meet technical reporting requirements.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of the control environment and recommend enhancements to support compliance and accuracy.
* Contribute to the design and maintenance of robust financial reporting frameworks.
Advisory & Transactional Support
* Provide ad-hoc technical accounting support on significant or complex transactions.
* Assist regional and group finance teams with technical queries and ensure consistent application of accounting policies.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders and external auditors to explain and support accounting treatments.
Training & Communication
* Deliver internal training and create user-friendly guidance materials on technical accounting topics.
* Present complex financial concepts in a clear and accessible manner to non-finance professionals.
* Foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the finance function.
Ideal candidate
* Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
* First or Second time mover (Assistant Manager & Manager level will be considered)
* Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and/or UK GAAP.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple projects and work effectively across global teams.
