Take a leading role in managing IT technical projects, from small-scale initiatives to complex system implementations, working directly with the Senior Project Manager and Programme Managers. As a key member of the IT Project Management Office, you will drive the successful delivery of projects that are aligned with the Council’s strategic priorities and corporate objectives, with at least 5 years’ experience of directly managing and delivering IT projects. Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring the highest standards of project management throughout the ICT Delivery team. While your primary focus will be on project management, a working knowledge of business analysis will be required in supporting successful project outcomes. Applicants should have IT Project Management expertise and ability to manage complex projects from initiation through completion, including requirement gathering, drafting work packages and PIDs, stakeholder engagement, preparing highlight and closure reports, and budget oversight. Familiarity with multiple project management methodologies such as Prince 2, Agile is necessary. The role covers projects across various business areas such as IT infrastructure, IT networking, Social Care, Enforcement, and local government applications such as Housing. Knowledge of procurement and tendering for IT services and software applications will be beneficial.
About you
Proven experience delivering projects of varying sizes and complexity and coaching a high-performing delivery team. Able to demonstrate knowledge of the techniques used to monitor and report progress, resource utilisation and performance targets. Have strong verbal, written and visual communication skills that you can tailor to the needs of the audience. Experience of implementation of an Enforcement system.
