Business Development Manager Wanted – Reading Branch (B2B Sales) KBB Recruitment are delighted to be working with a leading national builders' merchant known for delivering excellence in building materials and trade services. As they continue to expand, they are now seeking a motivated and experienced B2B Business Development Manager to join their Reading branch. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in B2B sales and the construction supply industry, looking to join a respected brand with great earning potential. Full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday with every other Saturday between 8am - 12pm, Basic salary of £50,000 – £60,000 company car, with the potential to earn an additional £1,000 per month in bonuses. The Role We’re looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager to focus on B2B client acquisition and account growth. This is a field-based, customer-facing role, covering Reading and surrounding areas, where you’ll build lasting relationships with builders, contractors, developers, and construction firms. You’ll be responsible for driving branch revenue by identifying and securing new trade customers while nurturing and expanding existing accounts. Key Responsibilities * Proactively generate new B2B leads and opportunities across the local construction and trade sectors * Develop and manage relationships with building contractors, developers, and trade professionals * Create and implement strategies to grow the branch’s B2B customer base and meet sales targets * Conduct regular site visits and meetings with key clients to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions * Provide expert product knowledge across a wide range of building materials and services * Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high standards of service, delivery, and customer satisfaction * Negotiate prices, prepare quotes, and close sales with professionalism and accuracy * Maintain up-to-date records of all customer interactions, opportunities, and forecasts using CRM tools What We’re Looking For * Proven B2B sales experience, ideally in the building materials, construction supply, or merchant sector * Strong commercial acumen and a solid understanding of the trade and construction market * A confident communicator and relationship builder, comfortable dealing with clients at all levels * Self-motivated, target-oriented, and able to manage your own pipeline and time effectively * Excellent negotiation and closing skills * A full UK driving licence (essential) * Knowledge of CRM systems and good general IT literacy What’s on Offer * Competitive basic salary between £50,000 – £60,000, depending on experience * Company car provided for business use * Performance bonus scheme – potential to earn an additional £1,000 per month * Work with a reputable national brand and an experienced local team * Opportunity to make a real impact on branch growth and success * Training and ongoing professional development * Employee perks, staff discounts, and other company benefits KBB Recruitment are acting as the employment agency for this vacancy.
