About the Role
We currently have an exciting vacancy within our Public Health team to provide maternity leave cover and enable us to deliver on our priorities for children, young people and families, improving local health outcomes and reducing inequalities through bringing together partners and commissioning high-quality public health services. This includes commissioning services such as health visiting and school nursing and bringing together partners to develop Family Hubs with a focus on the Best Start in Life. Based on an understanding of local health and wellbeing needs, you will support the development of priorities and plans for public health services in Trafford. The Public Health team commissions a variety of services, from health visiting and school nursing to weight management and mental wellbeing services. Through this, we have collaborative relationships with a wide range of partners, including voluntary and community sector organisations, children’s services and the NHS.
Improving the health of our population is at the heart of our team. The role will be pivotal in ensuring that the health and well‑being needs of children, young people and families in Trafford, including underserved and vulnerable groups, are understood and met.
About you
Are you passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of populations? With experience of project management and commissioning of services, and a degree or a professional management/ commissioning qualification, you will have strong organisational skills to ensure services are meeting key performance indicators and projects are delivered within set timescales.
Using excellent communication skills and your experience in multi‑agency working, you will build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to improve health and well‑being outcomes. You will be able to analyse performance and financial data with the skills to present clearly and concisely to a wide range of audiences in order to influence decision makers and command the confidence of others.

Additional Information
You will have flexibility in terms of hybrid working at home and in the office. As part of the Public Health team, you will usually be expected to work at Trafford Town Hall two days per week.
