Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity for ambitious graduates looking to begin a career in education, sport, or youth development.

Repton School is seeking energetic, motivated and committed Resident Graduate Assistants to join our vibrant boarding community for the 2026–27 academic year.

This is a fantastic role for graduates eager to gain hands‑on experience in a leading co‑educational boarding school while developing the skills, confidence and professional insight needed for future careers in teaching, coaching or youth-focused fields.

As a Resident Graduate Assistant, you will play a full part in school life: supporting lessons, assisting departments, coaching sport or contributing to the co‑curricular programme, and taking an active role within one of our boarding houses. You will work alongside experienced staff, learn from outstanding practitioners, and benefit from a structured induction and ongoing training.

This one‑year residential post offers exceptional professional breadth, with opportunities to assist in the classroom, work closely with pupils, develop pastoral expertise, and support the School’s rich programme of activities. For exceptional candidates, there may be opportunities to remain for a second year, take on greater responsibility or pursue supported training pathways.

Repton offers:

* Free accommodation and meals

* Free membership of the outstanding Repton Sports Centre

* Full involvement in the co‑curricular and boarding life of the School

* Access to excellent facilities across academics, sport, arts and digital innovation

* A supportive and collegiate Common Room

* Opportunities for professional development and progression into teaching or coaching

* A welcoming village setting with excellent transport links to Derby, Leicester, Nottingham, Birmingham and the Peak District

This role is ideal for graduates with energy, initiative and a genuine desire to work with young people in a dynamic and purposeful environment.

To apply, please visit the Repton Recruitment Hub. Applications should be submitted alongside a covering letter and details of two referees.

Repton School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All applicants will undergo appropriate checks.

Candidates should submit their application via the Repton Recruitment Hub, accompanied by a covering letter and the names of two professional referees.

The closing date for applications is Monday 2 March. Interviews will take place in person at Repton week commencing Monday 9 March.

Due to the high number of applicants, it is not possible to respond to every application individually, therefore candidates will only be contacted if successful in the short-listing stage.

About Repton School

Repton is the ancient capital of Mercia, and the School, founded in 1557 from a bequest from Sir John Port of Etwall, was established on the site of a 7th century Anglo-Saxon Benedictine abbey and latterly a 12th century Augustinian priory and the School today incorporates many of the original buildings from the estate.

The School has over one thousand pupils across the Prep and Senior School, making it large enough to achieve excellence in and out of the classroom, yet small enough for individuals to grow and succeed. Repton and Repton Prep have always enjoyed a very close relationship and in 2020, the schools became a through-school.

At Repton Senior, each pupil, whether day or boarding, is a member of a House. Academic standards are high and creative activities, including music, art, drama and design, flourish. The School has a national profile in sport, in particular in football, hockey, cricket and swimming. Our pupils thrive both in and out of the classroom and they develop the skills, qualities and values that will lead to a successful life.

Repton was one of the first British schools to set up overseas schools with the establishment of Repton School Dubai in 2007, and the development of a community of international schools is key to Repton’s future vision. Currently, Repton has schools in Dubai (2), Abu Dhabi (2), China, and Egypt, with plans to open a further four more over the next few years. Repton also includes five schools in the UK (Repton, Repton Prep, St Wystan’s, Vinehall and Marlborough House) with the ambition to grow its UK family of schools.
