Solicitor – Commercial Litigation Department
Commercial Dispute Resolution – Permanent, Full Time – Leeds
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Commercial Litigation practice in Leeds. We are growing our team and developing our client base. We are accepting applications from Solicitors, Associates, Senior Associates & Partners.
This role manages a personal caseload of commercial litigation matters while supporting more complex matters with senior members of the team. The role liaises directly with clients, ensuring a high level of client care at all times. It is full time, Monday to Friday 36.25 hours, based at our Leeds Embankment offices and reports directly to the Head of Commercial Litigation. Applications from candidates looking to work from the York and Sheffield offices would also be welcomed.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a varied caseload of commercial litigation matters including contract disputes, commercial property disputes, landlord & tenant disputes, professional negligence disputes, debt recovery disputes.
* Support on more complex matters alongside senior members of the team.
* Keep matters up to date in systems and communicate new developments to clients and relevant team members.
* Record all time in the Tikit system, including non‑billable activities.
* Take responsibility for managing the client experience and attend client meetings where necessary.
* Take a keen interest in business development for the department and contribute where required.
* Support departmental audits as and when required.
* Take on additional tasks as reasonably required by the Head of Commercial Dispute Resolution.
* Conduct legal research where required and demonstrate a meticulous approach with great attention to detail.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* At least 2 PQE in Commercial Litigation.
* Ability to manage your own caseload of complex client matters.
* Excellent commitment to client care and good technical ability.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines with your caseload.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Sound knowledge of IT systems and processes, such as the Microsoft suite.
