Role Purpose
To lead, plan, execute, manage, and control the ICSS engineering activities and deliverables for the assigned project, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, schedule, cost, and quality standards. Reports to the Project I&C Lead or Group Lead Engineer.
Key Accountabilities
1. Understand the ICSS design basis, project requirements (including HSSE, scope, cost, schedule, quality), client specifications, industry standards, and project execution plan.
2. Plan, lead, and manage ICSS team resources, clearly defining responsibilities and deliverables for each team member.
3. Guide Engineers and Senior Engineers in developing ICSS specifications and drawings, review these documents, and incorporate them into the ICSS RFQ process.
4. Evaluate bids from suppliers for the ICSS package, perform technical assessments, and assist in vendor selection, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
5. Conduct kick-off meetings with vendors, review drawings and documents, and ensure timely delivery of accurate specifications and documents to vendors. Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables meet requirements and schedule, completing engineering and FAT on time.
6. Develop technical solutions for engineering problems, analyze issues, interpret data, and evaluate options using experience and references. Provide technical expertise for system issues.
7. Proactively identify potential problems, take preventive actions, and suggest improvements for schedule, cost, and quality.
8. Visit suppliers, review test results, and work with vendors to rectify deficiencies to ensure specifications are met.
9. Maintain close communication with the team and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project requirements and approvals.
10. Lead meetings, review progress, address interface issues, and escalate when necessary to keep the project on track.
11. Provide technical support during construction and commissioning, assist with SAT, troubleshoot issues, and follow up with stakeholders.
12. Review and approve ICSS topology, interfaces, cybersecurity, and control philosophies with other packages.
13. Participate in safety studies (HAZID/HAZOP/SIL), review reports, and implement recommendations. Develop and review safety and control system specifications.
14. Prepare technical queries for clients, respond to class comments, and coordinate with O&M teams for inputs.
15. Ensure compliance with HSSEQ policies, laws, and ethical standards, prioritizing safety and environmental protection.
16. Communicate information effectively among all parties and ensure quality standards are met.
17. Implement lessons learned from previous projects and record insights for future reference.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering
* At least 12 years of relevant ICSS engineering experience in oil & gas EPCI for degree holders, or 11 years for Master's degree holders
* Experience working on FPSO/FSO projects
* Certified Functional Safety Engineer
* Cybersecurity certifications are an advantage
Competencies
Technical Skills:
* Ability to review P&IDs for control-related information
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Intermediate skills in Adobe PDF, Navisworks Freedom, and Visio for logic flowcharts
Work Conditions
The majority of work is office-based. Approximately 10% of the time may be spent at ICSS supplier sites for FAT and 10% at project sites for commissioning support and SAT.
