This Advanced Pupil Support Worker post is within the Additional Support Service Central team who on a rotational basis provide support to pupils across our ASN schools, primary schools and ELC.
Post locations are generally allocated on a termly basis with no more than two schools supported in a working week. This position would join a team of 7 Advanced Pupil Support Workers who are supported by the ASN development officers and Principal Officer for ASN to carry out the role of APSW. There is a focus on supporting inclusive practice and presumption of mainstream.
There is a structured CLPL programme for the members of the central Advanced Pupil Support Worker team as part of this post.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
