This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to work in partnership with the county council. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Highway Authority with consultations with the Local Planning Authority for proposed developments. Agree detailed designs and ensure planning permission conditions/obligations are met. Attend/Chair meetings and respond to site/design queries in a timely manner. Undertake extensive stakeholder liaison (both internal and external). Ensure statutory processes are followed as required. Instruct legal agreements to allow developer infrastructure works to be adopted as public highway. Provide timely and accurate advice on highway-related matters to County Councillors, District Members, Parish Councils, and the general public. Manage and provide technical direction for team members regarding all aspects of the highway service. Job Requirements: Experience in development management, highway engineering, and development control. Educated to degree level or equivalent in a related subject or proven experience in highways and/or transportation. Expert knowledge in relevant professional areas, with membership of a professional institution such as CIHT being desirable.
