Our client, a small and well-established independent special school set in the idyllic Somerset countryside, is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their talented and heart-led team. This is a small school for students aged 5 - 14 and offers a supportive environment where education is personal and every child is known, seen and championed.

You’ll support children with a range of needs including social, emotional and mental health challenges, speech and language difficulties and autistic spectrum conditions. Under the guidance of skilled class teachers, you’ll offer both in-class support and deliver small-group or 1:1 learning sessions.
The school utilises numerous different extra curricular activities including PE, outdoor education, swimming and generally being active to get the best out of the children. All of these you would have an active involvement.

While experience in a similar setting is advantageous, what really matters is your mindset, motivation and empathy. Previous experience working with young people in any capacity in the UK is essential.
