Job Description
We are seeking a Maintenance Shift Manager for our state-of-the-art 2.5 million square foot Distribution Centre in Shirebrook, one of the most advanced warehouses in the UK. This role offers responsibility and accountability during a period of cultural change, embodying Frasers Group values.
You will lead the Engineering Team, minimizing downtime and ensuring the uptime of automated equipment. The role involves 50% leadership and 50% hands-on maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, repairs, and performance optimization of automated material handling equipment.
Responsibilities
1. Manage and coordinate shift activities through effective planning and organization.
2. Train, coach, and mentor team members; conduct performance reviews.
3. Analyze data to improve performance and meet KPIs.
4. Ensure safe working practices and compliance with health and safety legislation.
5. Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment such as conveyors, sorters, shuttles, and robotics.
6. Fault-finding and diagnosis of mechanical/electrical issues.
7. Respond promptly to automation faults to minimize downtime.
8. Optimize automation performance and complete reports using CMMS and other software.
9. Support service tracking and error analysis, contributing to corrective actions.
10. Lead shift handovers and participate in site meetings.
11. Maintain communication with Automation management.
