The Position:
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Registered Nurse to work with our small Theatre team.
This post offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain knowledge and skills with a broad range of specialties, and gain new skills assisting in theatre, with the anaesthetic, scrub, circulating and recovery of patients.
The successful candidate will work with a multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of care is given to defined patient groups attending Day Unit and Theatre. An out of hours, on call service is provided by Theatre staff, which the successful candidate will participate in.
The Candidate:
You will be required to have evidence of post registration Theatre nursing experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. NES anaesthetic competency is essential. The post holder is required to hold NMC/HCPC registration.
Location, Working Pattern and Contract Duration:
This post will be based at The Balfour
The successful candidate will work: Full Time 37 hours per week
This post is on a Permanent Basis
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.

The salary for this post is Band 6 and if residing on Orkney, you’ll also receive a Distant Islands Allowance of £1,657 pro rata per annum, adding extra value to your rewarding career with us.
