As a DV Cleared NOC Engineer, you are responsible for maintaining and supporting secure, mission-critical network infrastructure. Operating within a highly secure environment, you will monitor and manage core networks, respond to incidents, and ensure operational continuity in line with strict security and compliance standards.
This role requires active Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance due to the highly sensitive nature of the systems you will support.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitorand manage secure LAN/WAN networks and services within classifiedenvironments, ensuring uptime, performance, and integrity.
* Conductincident triage, fault diagnosis, and resolution at 1st and 2nd linelevels, escalating where necessary to senior engineers or vendors.
* Applyconfiguration changes, security patches, and software updates inaccordance with change control policies and customer authorisations.
* Analyseand interpret design documents, configuration guides, and secure baselinestandards to validate device and system performance.
* Maintain vendor specialisations andaccreditations as directed by management, ensuring exams are completed withinthe timescales given.
* Accurately record activities and projectcompletion documentation, ensuring these are clearly written using the relevantdocumentation and tools.
* Followoperational runbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to supportclassified infrastructure operations.
* Workclosely with project teams to support the rollout, validation, and ongoingmaintenance of classified systems and solutions.
* Contributeto service improvement initiatives, especially those impactingavailability, integrity, and security of systems under DV control.
Requirements
Security Clearance
* Mandatory: Active Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
Experience
* Minimum3 years working in a NOC or secure technical support environment, ideallywithin defence or intelligence sectors.
* Provenexperience with Cisco, network infrastructure, collaboration, SDWAN andsecurity.
* Familiaritywith secure asset handling, air-gapped environments, and working understrict operational security (OpSec) guidelines.
Certifications (Desirable)
* Min CCNA (Working towards/willing to work towards)
* JNCIA/ JNCIS
* ITILFoundation
* CiscoSecurity Specialisations
Skills & Attributes
* Uncompromisingattention to detail and adherence to security protocols.
* Calmand professional under pressure, with the ability to manage incidents inhigh-stakes environments.
* Excellentwritten and verbal communication, particularly around secure documentationand incident reporting.
* Organisedand process-driven with the ability to follow tightly governed procedures.
* Collaborativeteam player with a clear understanding of the importance of discretion andconfidentiality.
Academic Qualifications (Desirable)
* GCSEs(Grades A–D) in English, Maths, and IT/Science.
* BTECLevel 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in IT, Networking, or Electronic Systems.
