Support For Learning Assistant - Glasgow, UK
Our client is looking for a temporary Support for Learning Assistant on a temporary contract to start as soon as possible.
Job Responsibilities
Assist students with physical and/or learning disabilities to access the curriculum effectively.
Provide one-to-one support to students, ensuring their individual needs are met with patience and understanding.
Help facilitate classroom activities and learning sessions under the guidance of teaching staff.
Support students during breaks, lunch, and other school activities to promote social inclusion.
Assist with personal care and mobility needs as required, ensuring student safety and dignity.
Maintain a positive and encouraging environment to foster student confidence and independence.
Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health & safety protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications
PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) scheme clearance for working with children.
Previous experience supporting students with physical and/or learning disabilities is desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with students and staff.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting student needs.
Flexibility to work two days per week, on Mondays and Thursdays, from 8.45 am to 4.45 pm, including a one-hour lunch break and a tea break.
Relevant qualifications in supporting learning or special educational needs are advantageous but not essential.
