About The Role
We are keen to hire a candidate who possesses the experience and expertise necessary to lead the data and intelligence contributions to key programmes. We are prepared to appoint the ideal candidate directly to the upper grade as advertised.
As a Public Health Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing, evaluating, and interpreting data from a range of sources, to inform the development of public health programmes, statutory reports and publications. You will play a key role in developing the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA), the Director of Public Health Annual Report, and other health needs assessments for London Borough of Haringey and London Borough of Islington. You will develop data reports on communities in Islington and Haringey and support the implementation of the Islington Insights and Intelligence dashboard.
You will compile indicator data packs to inform partnership programmes, such as the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy, and oversee data analyses produced by the assistant Public Health Intelligence Analyst. Your work will be split between Islington and Haringey. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of health data, social determinants of health, and data sources to provide health intelligence advice to the Public Health team, Council colleagues, and partner agencies (e.g., NHS, voluntary sector, CCGs). You will also lead in-depth analytical projects to support the team.
About You
Are you passionate about improving health outcomes for Islington and Haringey residents? We seek an enthusiastic individual with skills in statistical analysis, data presentation, and report writing, capable of communicating findings to diverse audiences. You should have experience working with NHS organisations, GPs, and voluntary sectors, and be able to work strategically with health system partners to meet population health needs. Leadership experience, including line management of an assistant analyst, is desirable.
