The job itself
A lady in her 20's with learning disabilities requires a support worker to work either Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays. This lady has limited verbal communication, she can use a few Makaton signs. She enjoys swimming, ball pool activities, Ten Pin bowling, feeding ducks and doesn't mind going out for an occasional meal to the pub. The role is 6 hours per week on Wednesdays, community access working alongside current PA to provide 2:1 support (weather dependant) the support would need to have some flexibility.
Support is required for activities within the community, she does use a wheelchair if necessary.
Preparation of meals and drinks and assisting with feeding and personal hygiene care is required.
Experience with learning disabilities would be preferred but not essential.
This lady lives in a rural location near to Driffield and due to the location car driver essential.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
