Role Overview
The Regional Support Manager will support any home within a region and be flexible in terms of travel. They will report to the Regional Manager and work closely with the Regional Manager and the home’s management team to ensure action plans are completed in a timely manner, implement improvements and enhance quality standards.
Key responsibilities include ensuring the region achieves a "minimum" good CQC outcome in all homes, championing quality throughout the region, and ensuring services meet their financial budgets. This hands‑on role requires operational support of homes as needed, managing or supporting homes where there is a Manager’s absence due to vacancy, leave or sickness, and supporting new Managers or those experiencing operational issues.
Responsibilities
* Deputise for the Regional Manager when absent; support delivery of the Service Improvement Plan.
* Implement and continue management of new systems, including EMAR and electronic care planning.
* Lead, direct, supervise and support employees working within the region.
* Manage the region efficiently and effectively within available resources.
* Support recruitment in line with Harbour policy and procedure.
* Provide induction training and supervision to employees as required.
* Promote good communication within a service; champion Harbour Healthcare key elements, including Stand‑up and Resident of the Day.
* Support the region and employees with HR issues and performance, manage probationary periods and handle informal and formal disciplinary matters.
* Ensure residents’ emotional, spiritual, physical, medical and material needs are recognised, assessed and met with regular reviews, assessments and care plans in liaison with other professionals.
* Involve residents in decision‑making about activity, lifestyle and matters that may affect them.
* Support building and equipment maintenance.
* Implement systems that meet Health & Safety legal requirements (risk assessments, fire records, COSHH files, etc.).
* Ensure mandatory training requirements are met and maintain up‑to‑date training records for all employees.
