Role Purpose
To deliver high-quality teaching and learning within Key Stage 2, ensuring all pupils make strong academic and personal progress, while contributing to a positive and supportive whole-school environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum for KS2
* Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
* Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, adapting teaching accordingly
* Support pupils’ social, emotional and moral development alongside academic achievement
* Contribute to a broad, balanced and creative curriculum tailored to pupils’ needs
* Establish positive behaviour expectations based on mutual respect and clear boundaries
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and senior leaders
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers
* Contribute to wider school life, including extracurricular activities and school events
Person Specification
Essential
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching within Key Stage 2
* Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and assessment expectations
* Ability to create inclusive learning environments
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
* Strong classroom management skills
Desirable
* Experience teaching in mixed-age classes
* Understanding of working within a values-led or faith-informed school setting
* Ability to contribute to wider curriculum development
