Residential Childcare Support Worker
Location: Bolton-le-Sands, Carnforth
Contract: Full time, permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: Basic salary of £25,563.20 with the potential to earn up to £32,283.20 with sleep-in shifts.
We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our established Residential Team at Bayview. You will work in one of our family-oriented children's homes in Heysham or rural North Lancaster, caring for a maximum of four young people per home.
Our service requires individuals committed to guiding young people aged 8-18 with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties towards success, supporting our ethos. You will help provide a safe, secure, homely, and positive environment to enhance the lives of children and young adults. All our homes are rated 'Outstanding' or 'Good' by Ofsted, and we expect staff to contribute to maintaining and improving this standard.
It is a requirement to undertake and complete a Diploma Level 3 in Working with Children & Young People or Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship within 2 years if not already qualified.
Additionally, you must hold a full UK driving license.

Principal Accountabilities
* To perform duties as a Childcare Worker and Key Worker, exceeding Ofsted standards.
* To ensure the highest standards of childcare for residents.
* To purposefully improve the lives of young people in the Home.
* To build positive relationships with families, friends, and external agencies as directed by the Registered Manager.
* To foster a culture of trust and mutual respect within the Home.
The Provision of Childcare
* Develop high-quality care plans for each young person.
* Adhere to legal requirements, Ofsted standards, and company policies at all times.
* Communicate feedback from residents, families, and external agencies to the management team.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment.
* Build trusting relationships with children, understanding their backgrounds and needs.
* Engage proactively with children, creating an inclusive environment where they feel they belong.
* Supervise children actively, ensuring safety and well-being, and managing conflicts in line with policies.
* Report issues and concerns promptly to the management team.
* Carry out risk assessments for activities to ensure safety.
* Participate actively in activities, contributing to children's development.
* Discharge Key Worker responsibilities, treating children as individuals and maintaining communication with families.
* Contribute to child reviews and ensure all documentation is completed diligently.
* Ensure food standards are met and assist with cooking and shopping as needed.
