Facilities Manager

We have an exciting new permanent role available in Leeds. We are looking for an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to lead the delivery of a high-quality, professional facilities service for a legal services company. This is a key role responsible for ensuring our workplaces are safe, compliant, well-maintained and fit for purpose, enabling our people to perform at their best.
You will oversee both hard and soft facilities management across multiple sites, taking ownership of building operations, health and safety, supplier performance, and facilities-related projects. You will also lead and develop a dedicated Facilities team, setting clear standards and driving continuous improvement.
This role suits someone who enjoys taking responsibility, improving processes, and working closely with stakeholders to deliver efficient, cost-effective and compliant facilities services.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the Group’s buildings and facilities to provide safe, comfortable and well-maintained working environments across all locations
* Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
* Oversee all hard and soft facilities services, including cleaning, maintenance, utilities and supplies
* Lead, motivate and develop the Facilities team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
* Establish, manage and review service contracts and SLAs, including tendering and renegotiation where appropriate
* Plan and manage routine, preventative and emergency maintenance programmes
* Ensure prompt and effective response to reactive maintenance issues and building repairs
* Support the Company’s ESG objectives through effective energy management and the use of sustainable suppliers and partners
* Develop and maintain facilities-related policies, procedures and records
* Manage facilities projects such as refurbishments, office moves, space planning and reconfigurations
* Oversee reception and document management services, including post, scanning, print and related processes
* Produce management information and reporting for regulatory, senior management and board requirements
* Identify opportunities to improve facilities processes, efficiency and service delivery
* Act as a role model for Company values in all interactions and decision-making
Compliance and Conduct
The role requires adherence to relevant Conduct Rules, including acting with integrity, due skill and diligence, maintaining open and cooperative relationships with regulators, treating customers fairly, and delivering good outcomes.
About You
You will be a confident and capable Facilities professional with experience operating in a multi-site environment. You are commercially aware, organised, and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
You will bring:
* Proven experience in a Facilities Management role, ideally within a multi-site organisation
* Strong knowledge of health and safety, compliance and building management
* Experience managing contractors, suppliers and service providers
* A relevant Facilities Management or Health & Safety qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
* Strong planning, time management and organisational skills
* Demonstrable experience leading, managing and developing teams
* High attention to detail with a strong focus on delivery and accountability
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint
