We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Staff Visa Administrative Officer to join our People Directorate on a fixed-term basis until 31 July 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the University meets its obligations as a UKVI-compliant sponsor and continues to support colleagues across the organisation.
Working closely with the Staff Visa Compliance Manager, you will help ensure that all employment processes involving migrant workers, both staff and student workers, meet statutory requirements. You will also support the development of training and guidance materials and work collaboratively with colleagues across People Operations, Payroll, and Student Visas & Compliance.
About the role
In this role, you will support the University’s UKVI compliance by auditing staff files, monitoring visa and right-to-work documentation, maintaining accurate immigration records, and assisting with Certificates of Sponsorship. You will help prepare for UKVI audits, advise managers on right-to-work requirements, and contribute to process improvements across People Operations, Payroll, and Student Visas & Compliance.
About you
You will be an organised, detail-focused administrator with strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise effectively. You will be confident working collaboratively across teams and comfortable handling sensitive information. Experience in HR, HE, or visa compliance is welcome but not essential.
What we offer
1. A collaborative, supportive working environment
2. Opportunities to learn about UK immigration compliance
3. The chance to contribute to an important area of institutional responsibility
4. Hybrid working (where applicable to operational needs)
If you are motivated, proactive, and committed to delivering excellent service, we’d love to hear from you.
Due to the nature of this role, and the fact that it will require Home Office clearance to access the UKVI Sponsor Management System, we are unfortunately unable to consider any applicant who will require a Certificate of Sponsorship under Tier 2 of the Points Based Immigration System. The successful applicant will be required to undertake a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
