But at Scottish Water, thatâs exactly what we focus on every day. Weâre looking for a Network Service Operator â Leakage to join our team in the West area. Youâll be part of the team working hard to monitor and maintain our water network, managing leakage and pressure to help keep water flowing reliably and efficiently. This role is all about protecting our vital water supply and making sure we meet our regulatory targetsâwhile putting safety, innovation, and best practice at the heart of everything we do. What youâll do In this role, youâll help maintain District Metered Area (DMA) meters and equipment, making sure everything is working properly. Youâll carry out leakage surveys and sweeps to keep a close eye on the networkâs health. Youâll also isolate and re-commission parts of the distribution network and carry out step testing to identify any issues. Installing and monitoring leakage detection equipment will be part of your day, including calibrating and repairing loggers, meters, and other essential gear. Collecting and interpreting data from sources like Nightline data and DMA reports will help you spot potential leaks early. Youâll set up, programme, and deploy data-logging devices to support this work. Occasionally, youâll be involved in sampling when required. What youâll need Youâll need good verbal and written communication skills to keep everyone informed and up to date. Confidence to work independently is important, taking responsibility for making sure tasks are done efficiently and on time. A keen eye for detail will help you accurately record information and interpret data. Strong problem-solving skills will be key, along with a dedication to finding solutions when issues arise. Youâll also need to have a strong Health & Safety mindset, making sure all policies and procedures are followed closely. Being a quick learner will help you get to grips with both existing and new computer systems. And of course, youâll be a great team player, working well with others to meet shared goals. If youâre new to Scottish Water, youâll join us on a starting salary of £32,650.
