Responsibilities
* To clean and tidy toilets.
* To clean and tidy bathrooms.
* To clean and tidy bedrooms.
* To clean and tidy corridors.
* To clean and tidy sitting rooms.
* To clean and tidy offices, treatment rooms etc.
* To follow procedures for the appropriate disposal of waste.
* To make beds as required.
* To use all equipment according to appropriate instructions.
* To maintain dignity, respect and confidentiality as required.
* To support care staff in meeting the needs of the residents.
* To respect the personal needs and wishes of the residents at all time.
* To follow appropriate health and safety procedures.
* To maintain written records as required.
* To wash, iron, itemise and distribute residents’ clothes.
* To wash and iron all household laundry e.g. sheets, pillowcases, napkins etc.
* Minor sewing repairs.
* Ensure that all appliances are kept in good order and free from abuse, in compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
* To carry out any other reasonable duty such as Cleaning Duties as required by the management of the Home, which is necessary for the support and well-being of the residents.
Skills and Qualifications
* Evidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of older people.
* Awareness of health and safety practices within a working and residential environment.
* Willingness to work additional hours to meet the requirements of the Home.
* Must be willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
Further Information
Work Time: Shifts are 8.00am-1.00pm or 1.00pm-6.00pm worked on a rota basis.Please note 1 x 15 hours per week also available.We are an equal opportunities employer.
