Overview
Fire and Security Engineer – Location: Birmingham | Full-Time | Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (Depending on Experience)
What You'll Be Doing
* Installation & Servicing: Install, service, and maintain a wide range of fire and security systems, including fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems.
* Fault-Finding & Repairs: Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure systems are fully operational and meet safety standards.
* Commissioning & Testing: Commission and test systems to ensure compliance with relevant standards, and complete all required documentation and reports.
* Customer Support: Provide excellent customer service, including advising clients on system use, maintenance, and any necessary upgrades or improvements.
* Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all work complies with industry standards and regulations, and maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and time sheets.
* Problem-Solving & Reporting: Address any technical issues quickly and effectively while keeping clients informed throughout the process. Report on work completed and any follow-up requirements.
What We're Looking For
* Experience with Fire and Security Systems: Proven experience with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control.
* Technical Skills: Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
* Knowledge of British Standards and Regulations: Understanding of current fire and security regulations, including fire safety compliance and relevant standards.
* Full UK Driving Licence: A valid UK driving licence is required for travel to and from client sites.
* Positive, Can-Do Attitude: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong customer service skills and professionalism at all times.
Nice to Have
* Experience with specific systems such as Galaxy or other major security brands.
* CSCS or ECS card.
* IPAF or PASMA certifications.
* Previous experience working in commercial and residential environments.
