Overview
We are seeking a Paralegal to join us to handle a caseload of litigated defendant claims for the firm’s corporate and insurer clients.
How youll make an impact
* Defending litigated claims on behalf of large corporates from issue to trial (including – but not limited to - personal injury, large loss, property damage, credit hire, LVI and fraud claims).
* Assessing coverage, liability and quantum before setting and maintaining reserves in accordance with client service level agreements and client “key performance indicators”.
* Investigation of merits of third‑party claims.
* Telephone and correspondence negotiation with third parties, third‑party insurers and third‑party solicitors to agree to the best client outcome.
* Valuing General and Special Damages.
* Using the Civil Procedure Rules and relevant Authorities to obtain the best client outcome.
* On all own‑handled claims ensuring full compliance with all office protocols, client service level agreements and client “key performance indicators”.
* Achieving on all own‑handled claims 100% data integrity compliance on the office case management system.
* Working within and supporting the litigation team to achieve and maintain full compliance with all office protocols, client service level agreements and client “key performance indicators”. Ensuring delegation and supervision of appropriate tasks to the Claims Administration Assistants.
* Full compliance on all financial transactions with clients’ Service Level Agreements and client “Key Performance Indicators” and SRA Solicitors’ Accounts Rules.
* Acting as a technical and procedural supervision point for others in the litigation team.
* Acting in the team as a litigation/large loss handler.
* Taking steps to develop and own career by liaising with key clients within the parameters of the existing client account group.
* From time to time, as required, acting as a secondee to insurer and MGA clients.
About You
* Litigation experience.
* RTA, EL and PL claims experience.
* Demonstrable self‑motivation and initiative.
* Ability to work independently and within a defined structure.
