Overview
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, committed and highly self-motivated individual to join our busy school as a SEND Assistant. A SENDCo assistant role provides crucial administrative support for a school's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) department, working closely with the SENDCo to ensure the smooth running of processes related to student support and compliance with SEND regulations.
Responsibilities
* Knowledge of SEND compliance and EHCPs
* Administer assessments with children under the direction of the SENDCo
* Run specific SEND intervention sessions as and when required under the direction of the SENDCo
* Support staff by working alongside a child during part of the day to model or support elements of the EHCP
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders
* Excellent organisational skills
* Good IT skills
* GCSE level or equivalent English & Maths (A-C)
