12‑month FTC (with potential extension to 16 months due to training requirements)

21 hours per week | 2 on / 6 off | Days only

Are you passionate about food quality, safety, and continuous improvement? Do you thrive in a hands‑on environment where the work you do genuinely makes a difference? We’re looking for a Quality Control Specialist (QCS) to join our team in Market Drayton on a part‑time, fixed‑term basis.

This is a 12‑month opportunity, with the potential to extend up to 16 months to support full completion of the required training programme.

What You’ll Do

As a QCS, you’ll be the on‑site quality champion—supporting our Unit Team to maintain the highest standards in food safety, hygiene, and product compliance. You will:

1. Champion quality across the site, ensuring compliance with food law, retailer standards, and GMP.
2. Coach and guide Unit Team members on QC practices, building awareness of QA principles.
3. Collaborate closely with QA, Dairy Technologists, and operational teams to troubleshoot and optimise quality processes.
4. Lead by example on the shop floor—spotting issues, highlighting improvements, and supporting a culture of excellence.
5. Own the QC process across the full production cycle, ensuring products meet specification and are ready for release.

Key Responsibilities

6. Deliver QC oversight for testing, logging, and reporting of food and packaging.
7. Support inspections, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
8. Ensure hygienic sampling and accurate data recording across all allocated shifts.
9. Act as the QC subject matter expert (SME), sharing best practice and guiding others.
10. Promote a positive food safety and quality culture within the Unit.
11. Work alongside MPS Tech and Dairy Process Technologists to enhance processes.
12. Support root cause analysis (RCA), SP and CPMU reduction plans.

What You’ll Bring

13. Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
14. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
15. Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
16. Confidence when working under pressure and a passion for continuous learning.
17. IT literacy and the ability to produce clear and accurate technical reports.
18. Desirable: Experience in food/dairy quality or safety.
19. Desirable: Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.

What’s in It for You?

20. Competitive salary + 10% bonus
21. Career development & continuous training
22. Free yoghurts!
23. Annual holiday entitlement (pro‑rated to part‑time hours)
24. Company pension & x2 life assurance
25. Free uniform/PPE
26. Müller Rewards – 800+ discounts
27. Be part of a globally recognised brand
