The Care Assistant role involves providing homecare services to our customers, including health & wellbeing activities, housekeeping, personal care, and companionship.
Care Assistants are expected to uphold Audley’s commitment to high-quality, compassionate care that complies with CQC standards. They should demonstrate understanding, empathy, respect, and warmth towards our customers.
What will I do?
1. Visit village & community customers daily, following their personal care plans, which include personal care and support with daily tasks such as mobility, washing, bathing, dressing, mealtimes, medication administration, and continence care.
2. Perform house duties like supporting fitness, health awareness, cooking, laundry, vacuuming, ironing, and other chores. Assist customers with medical appointments, prescription collections, and hospital discharge support.
3. Encourage customers to be as independent as possible in daily activities.
4. Liaise with family members when required.
5. Respect customers’ dignity and privacy.
6. Ensure full compliance with safeguarding policies and behaviors.
7. Attend all relevant training to improve skills and understanding.
8. Since the role is community-based, a driving license and access to a vehicle are preferred.
Key Skills & Requirements:
* Support for new carers through the Audley Academy’s full induction and care certificate completion.
* Funding for QCF Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care.
* Good written and spoken English skills.
* Use of company mobile and scheduling app for communication.
* Ability to accurately complete electronic logs and follow medication instructions.
* Good knowledge of the local area.
* High standards of personal presentation and hygiene, including uniform, jewelry, nails, and hair according to policy.
* Effective time management and adaptability to meet customer needs.
* Act as a role model through excellent customer, owner, and team service.
