 
        
        The post holder will be a functional lead for the core creative psychotherapy service in operation across the establishment. They will excel in psychodynamic, psychotherapeutic or psychological models of treatment and have experience in risk assessment or specialist knowledge in areas such as personality disorder, trauma or forensic services. The role involves significant line management, clinical oversight, research, training and the delivery of innovative therapies including music therapy, psychodrama and art therapy to complex offenders within the therapeutic community.
Responsibilities
 * Provide line management for up to 10 Core Creative Psychotherapists.
 * Serve as the overarching professional lead for three core creative modalities (Music Therapy, Art Therapy and Psychodrama) and be responsible for clinical oversight and direction.
 * Maintain an active clinical role in the delivery of Core Creative Therapies within the therapeutic communities.
 * Provide clinical input and oversight for the delivery of all CCP clinical assessments, parole and clinical reports.
 * Lead on meeting audit baselines for the delivery of all Core Creative Psychotherapies.
 * Collaborate with external partners to develop and implement research into the efficacy of Core Creative Therapies.
 * Lead on the development of Reflective Practice within therapeutic communities.
 * Represent CCP at all national TC Liaison meetings/conferences and other prison‑wide affiliations.
 * Specialise in the accredited Democratic Therapeutic Community model, ensuring clinical requirements are adhered to and complement operational practice.
 * Facilitate creative psychotherapy group sessions, large community meetings and support co‑facilitators and staff.
 * Provide specialist contribution to the adult male treatment service, utilising creative theory and integrating it into a psychological formulation.
 * Ensure integrity and effectiveness of group sessions and oversee supervision of staff.
 * Deliver individual and group clinical supervision to staff and develop their clinical abilities.
 * Manage therapy group dynamics and support staff such as officers.
 * Promote clinical principles and model TC values and culture for staff.
 * Act as a professional witness in parole board hearings, multi‑agency meetings and as an expert witness in court proceedings.
 * Provide clinical assessments of referrals, ensuring alignment with risk management and treatment plans.
 * Contribute to risk assessment and management of complex, high‑risk prisoners.
 * Develop and maintain expertise in the assessment and treatment of offenders and targeted risk areas.
 * Provide specialist advice on treatment progress, continuation or termination of therapy.
 * Engage in offender management processes such as ACCT assessments and self‑harm or personality disorder assessments.
 * Attend weekly clinical, community and team meetings for effective team working and service development.
 * Integrate into the Therapeutic Community, adhering to its constitution and ensuring constructive interactions.
 * Provide supervision, training, mentoring and support to trainee creative psychotherapists.
 * Participate in audit and development activities relevant to the service area.
 * Remain informed of and critically evaluate current research to support evidence‑based practice.
 * Lead on the evaluation of the service through design and development of research and evaluation projects.
 * Provide specialist contribution to external audit preparation, including case studies and liaison with external agencies.
 * Provide specialist reports when requested and maintain professional networks with other clinicians and TCs.
Qualifications
 * Qualified and registered clinician with an associated professional body (e.g. BAAT, BACP, UKCP).
 * Made further creative psychotherapy or mainstream psychotherapy training, typically at Masters level.
 * Experience in providing clinical supervision, preferably both individual and group.
 * Knowledge of and ability to apply the underlying theoretical models of creative psychotherapy.
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (and Welsh where required).
