The Opportunity Barnsley College is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Health Teacher to inspire learners and support them toward successful careers in the health and care sector. If you do not yet hold a teaching qualification, you will be fully supported to achieve your Level 6 PGCE while working at the College, at no cost to you. In this role, you will deliver engaging, inclusive teaching across a range of vocational health programmes, supporting learners to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for future study or employment. What You'll Be Doing You will plan and deliver high-quality lessons using a variety of teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners. You will create and adapt learning materials that are current, relevant and accessible, and guide learners through assessment, offering clear and constructive feedback to help them progress. An important part of the role involves monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate records and contributing to course evaluation and curriculum development. You will work closely with Course Leaders, colleagues and employer partners to ensure our health provision remains industry-relevant and responsive. You will also support learner recruitment activities such as interviews, enrolment events, open evenings and school liaison work. Above all, you will help create a learning environment that is supportive, inclusive and aspirational, where learners feel valued, challenged and confident to take their next steps. About You You will be passionate about health education and motivated by supporting learners to succeed. You will enjoy teaching, be confident communicating with young people and colleagues, and bring enthusiasm and creativity to your practice. You will have strong subject knowledge within health or healthcare and be able to present information clearly and engagingly. You will be organised, adaptable and proactive, with the ability to build positive and respectful relationships. A commitment to continuous professional development and inclusive practice is essential. You should have a relevant degree or equivalent professional experience within the sector, alongside a minimum Level 3 qualification in your subject area. You will either hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one while in post. Experience of delivering learning, training or development to learners or colleagues is also required.
