Job Summary
At GKN Filton we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies and detailed metallic components for both civil and military aircraft. The successful applicant will be responsible for industrialising procurement projects within the supply chain.
Responsibilities
* Lead supplier industrialisation activities
* Assure and monitor product risk mitigation and quality planning/control at supplier (APQP, PPAP)
* Review supplier first article – communicate to SQE at Designing Organisation and approve the FAI
* Perform follow‑up supplier assessments, industrial reviews and evaluations when qualified
* Support concurrent engineering between GKN and supplier (design for manufacturing)
* Support cost engineering / cost reduction
* Support supplier tendering activity
Qualifications
Essential
* Sufficient relevant experience in a heavily regulated environment
* Experience in New Product Introduction or supplier industrialisation activities
* Well organised and structured with strong skills to work both independently and in a team
* Target‑oriented and outgoing with good communication skills
* Experience and skilled with Microsoft Office, and ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
* Project management experience
Desirable
* Engineering degree or recognised apprenticeship in a relevant discipline
* Project management (Prince2 / PMP)
* Knowledge of APQP toolset and previous practical application
* Knowledge of aerospace products, processes and technologies
