As a Senior Engineer, you will be at the forefront of transforming and modernising our wastewater networks, from preventing sewer flooding and reducing spills into the river to upgrading a historic network that keeps London flowing.
What you’ll be doing as a Senior Civil Engineer
1. Oversee the design development of wastewater network projects from initial concept to contract award.
2. Identify, analyse, and mitigate project risks, enabling scope definition and robust pricing.
3. Ensure contractors undertake detailed design and implement changes during construction.
4. Support project teams during asset commissioning and handover.
5. Conduct design reviews to ensure robust and safe solutions that meet operational requirements.
6. Act as the key contact for CDM Designer or Principal Designer roles during initial design stages.
7. Contribute to and improve Technical Asset Standards.
Hybrid working arrangements are available at Maple Lodge, with flexibility for remote work. The role is based on a 36-hour week, Monday to Friday. Candidates must drive and have a car, but applications without a car are welcome.
What you should bring to the role
1. A Civil Engineering HNC, degree, or master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
2. Chartered engineer or nearing chartership with a professional organisation.
3. Experience in designing and rehabilitating wastewater network projects.
4. Understanding of project delivery principles and health & safety in construction.
5. Knowledge of industrial processes relevant to engineering discipline.
